Hindi na puwedeng maningil para sa mga card na ginagamit sa cashless payment sa mga pampublikong sasakyan simula sa October 9.

Ito’y base sa Memorandum Circular (MC) 2020-057 ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) na nag-utos sa mga operator ng pampublikong sasakyan at mga automatic fare collection systems (AFCS) provider na huwag nang pabayaran sa pasahero ang card.

“Failure of the concerned operator and/or provider to comply with this issuance shall cause for the immediate suspension of the AFCS, aside from the penalties to be imposed,” saad sa memorandum.

Nilagdaan ito noong Martes at magiging epektibo sa October 9.

Samantala, nilinaw ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran na sakop ng MC lahat ng road transport PUV (public utility vehicle) katulad ng mga bus at modern jeepney subalit hindi kasama ang mga tren.

Paliwanag ni Libiran, mayroon kasing concession agreement para sa cashless payment sa mga tren.(PNA)
