Base sa dokumentaryo ng Born to be Wild, ilang species ng mga ibon ang natagpuang patay at nabalutan ng langis sa ilang komunidad sa naturang lugar.
Samantala, hindi pa alam ng mga awtoridad ang epekto ng pagtagas ng langis sa underwater species sapagkat hindi pa ligtas ang sumisid dito.
“If it’s not managed properly, we’re looking at years. With proper management, probably, it will require three to five years but without proper containment, it can last longer than that. We’re looking at decades for complete rehabilitation,” pahayag ni Dr. Irene Rodriguez of the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute.
