Asia Duathlon C’ships: Chicano wagi ng bronze

May ibubuga rin si Go For Gold Philippines triathlete John Leerams Chicano sa duathlon makaraan ang impresibong pinakita sa Powerman Asia Duathlon Championships nitong Marso 2-3 sa Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Nakatuntong si Chicano sa podium ng world’s largest duathlon race sa pagbabalik sa mahirap na ruta kung saan naharbat niya ang silver medal sa 2017 Southeast Asian Games men’s triathlon.

“Overall, it was a good race for me. This is a great buildup for the SEA Games late this year,” bulalas kahapon ni Chicano, na third overall sa men’s elite category sa clocking na 2 hours, 43 minutes at 25 seconds.

Si Frenchman Antony Costes ang pumrimero sa 10-kilometer run, 60km bike, 10km run race sa 2:41.23, at si Thomas Bruins ng Netherlands ang segundo sa 2:42.04.

“To stand on the medal podium in an internatio­nal race with some of the toughest and seasoned duathletes is something that our country should really be proud of,” lahad naman ni Go For Gold godfather Jeremy Go.

Bukod sa triathlon, masugid ding tagasuporta ang Go For Gold ng mga national athletes sa cycling, sepak takraw, skateboarding, wrestling at skateboarding bukod pa sa pagmamantine ng basketball teams sa PBA D-League at sa Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
