Dulay pinag-iingat ang mga player sa covid-19
Bago pinauwi ni Davao Occidental-Cocolife coach Donald ‘Don’ Dulay ang kanyang mga bataan sa kani-kanilang pamilya, pinaalalahanan niya ang mga ito na mag-ingat palagi at manatiling ligtas laban sa mapaminsalang coronavirus disease.
Na-postpone ang do-or-die ng Chooks-to-Go 3rd Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) South Division Finals dahil sa pag-atake ng COVID-19.
“So the first thing we thought was going home to be with our families. With all that is happening around the world, I think basketball is not so important right now,” litanya ni Dulay. “The only positive thing I can think of is we get to spend a lot more time with our families. Also, the players will have a lot of rest especially for the ones who were injured. I reminded them to make sure they were safe along with their families.”
Maging ang kanilang ensayo ay pinigil din ng nasabing virus.
“We were looking forward to Game Three. We were actually on our way to practice when we heard the news that there might be a lockdown and we already assumed that the MPBL will be canceling Game Three,” dagdag ni Dulay.
Tabla ang serye sa 1-1 matapos manalo ng reigning Southern Division champions Cocolife sa Game 2 kontra Basilan-Jumbo Plastic, 81-76, noong Marso 11 sa Lamitan City Gym.
Sinandalan ng Davaoenos sina veterans Billy Ray Robles at Bonifacio ‘Bonbon’ Custodio para makuha ang importanteng panalo at makabawi mula sa 74-72 loss sa DavNor Gym noong Mar. 9.
Kaya naman walang ibang nasa kukote ng Davao kundi sikwatin ang panalo pagbalik ng aksyon sa liga na ihahayag pa. (Elech Dawa)
