Dinomina ng Ginebra-Meralco title series ang ticket sales, TV ratings at livestream viewing.

Umapaw ang crowd na dumagsa sa anim na lang bago dinispatsa ng Gin Kings ang Bolts para sikwatin ang titulo ng PBA Governors Cup – una ng crowd darlings makalipas ang eight years.

Sa Game 6, sumirit ng 2,000 percent ang livestream viewers sa Sports5.ph. Humamig din ng 45-percent audience share sa TV viewing ang classic finals series.

“Halos kalahati ng mga nanood sa TV noon, naka-tune in sa PBA,” ani TV5 president/CEO Chot Reyes. “We’ve always had a good rating in any PBA finals. But the good rating soared to pheno­menal in this series.”

Tinawag ng TV5 top boss at Gilas head coach ang tagumpay ng serye bilang ‘perfect storm.’

“It’s not only the Barangay Ginebra mystique. It’s the fact that they’d not been there for years. Talagang nauhaw at nagutom ang tao,” puna ni Reyes.

“I don’t think it would be that huge if not for Ginebra and if Ginebra is there every year. The fact was that eight years sila nawala at biglang pumasok uli sa finals.”

Mula 9:30 p.m. – 10:15 p.m. sa Games 4-6, tinalo ng TV5 ang lahat ng networks sa rating at audience share.
