Hindi naman naging madali ang laban ni Murray kay Gerald Melzer ng Austria, nakababatang kapatid ni former world No. 8 Jurgen Melzer, bago umusad sa quarters sa pamamagitan ng 7-6 (6), 7-5 win.
“He played great, great tennis and was dominating large parts of the match,” lahad ni Murray, na laging nasa depensa sa kabuuan ng laro. “He made it extremely, extremely difficult. I was a bit lucky to through in two sets today.
Makakalaban ni Murray sa quarters si Nicolas Almagro ng Spain. Habang si Djokovic ay haharapin si Radek Stepanek ng Czech Republic.
