After suffering from bacterial meningitis last year, aminado si Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha na hindi pa siya fully recovered at hindi pa 100% okay.

“I’m not going to lie, I’m not good, I am not feeling well emotionally and physically,” ani Lani kahapon sa virtual presscon with Concert King, Martin Nievera para sa kanilang digital concert na New Day.

“But you know, just like what everybody’s saying, we have to go on, our lives have to go on. And that’s what I’m trying to do now,” she added.

October last year nang ma-diagnose si Lani at mister na si Noli ng bacterial meningitis.

MISALUCHA APEKTADO PA RIN ANG PANDINIG

“Gumaling na kami from that sakit but the problem is, talagang na-damage ‘yung ibang nerves namin sa brain. Nagkaroon kami ng swelling, ‘yung husband ko, nagkaroon ng hemorrhage, and ang pinaka-effect nito was loss of hearing.

“Ngayon, mas matindi na ‘yung pagkabingi ng husband ko, mas malala na. Ako, nagkaroon ng kaunting improvement but my right ear is deaf. ‘Yung nare-receive niyang whatever sound na papasok sa right ear ko was all just scratches,” aniya.

Ayon pa kay Lani ay labis siyang naapektuhan emotionally ng nangyari to the point na ayaw na niyang kumanta.

“It has affected me emotionally, immensely and I even came to a point telling myself that I don’t want to be part of the entertainment business anymore. I even told myself that I think I don’t know how to sing anymore to that extent ang way of thinking ko noon. Sabi ko nga I don’t want to sing anymore if it’s just going to be this way,” she said.

Pero sey nga niya, life has to go on and eventually realized na hindi dapat makahadlang ang kanyang kundisyon sa mga bagay na gusto niyang gawin.

“I am parang somehow semi-disabled but it’s not going to stop me from doing the things that I love to do which is singing. There may be struggles here and there but just like I said, I want my life to go on. I want to be normal again, I want to feel the usual vibrant and energetic Lani,” aniya.

Para naman kay Martin, family friend na ang turing niya kay Lani at napakadami na nilang pinagdaanan through the years. Nagbigay siya ng words of encouragement sa kaibigan.

“My advice to Lani is to do what she’s doing. Actually, I’m so proud of Lani. What she is going through and even in more recent things that are happening that she has no control. Being all the way here, she has family and issues in America, that she’s able to put on a happy face, put on a little bit of make-up and come up with all of us.

“Her courage, her spirit. You can break her voice, you can break her ear but you cannot break her spirit and her drive and her love to perform,” ani Martin.

Ang New Day ay first virtual concert together nina Lani at Martin na gaganapin sa The Theatre at Solaire and will be streaming worldwide via KTX.ph, IWantTFC, TFC IPTV on June 5, 8 p.m. PST/US and on June 6, 8 p.m. Manila time.

Produced by Star Media Entertainment, makakasama rin nina Lani at Martin sa “New Day” ang OPM hitmakers na sina Rey Valera, Nonoy Zuniga and Marco Sison bilang guests. Ididirihe ito ni Paolo Valenciano habang si Louie Ocampo naman ang musical director.
