“Iyong decline ng cinema is a global trend. Hindi lang siya sa Pilipinas nangyayari, even sa US and in other parts of the world.
Pinagdadaanan natin ito, because of the new platforms people consume their films.

“Netflix and Amazon has been creating disruption in terms of the landscape. Disruption in the sense that it’s changing the ways people are consuming films,” dugtong niya.

“Ang ginagawa ng FDCP in supporting our filmmakers, we are opening them up to the idea or the concept that films that they don’t have to look sa cinemas only kung gagawa sila ng pelikula.Content is content regarding kung saang platforms. What we have been doing for the past two years creating these avenues for them. Nagtataka kayo dahil salita ako nang salita about global about international markets, but that’s really what’s happening all around world that why people are looking beyond the Philippines, beyond their countries na domestically hindi lang talaga dito tayo dapat tumingin kung paano mai-exploit ang mga pelikula natin. In terms of our audience, I think what we need to do is work together as holistic stakeholders, NCAP, producers, FDCP talking on how to come up with a collective solution lowering prices, creating a promo, creating event-driven activities so that we can drive evey one to the cinemas, how we can improve the quality of our films para at least maging comparable sila with our competitors,” paliwanag niya.
