Michael Yang hindi empleyado ng gobyerno – Palasyo

Tinuldukan na ng Malacañang ang mga ispekulasyon kaugnay sa pagiging consultant-adviser ng negosyanteng Chinese na si Michael Yang sa Duterte administration.

Sa inilabas na pahayag ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, nilinaw nito na si Yang ay hindi empleyado sa Office of the President at lalong hindi permanente ang posisyon nito sa pamahalaan.

Si Yang aniya ay one-peso-a-year consultant-adviser at bahagi lamang ng grupo ng mga consultants ni Pa­ngulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“Mr. Michael Yang is not employed at the Office of the President nor does he hold a permanent position in the government. Similarly, he does not belong to the Presidential Assistant/Adviser system.

“Presidential Advisers usually hold Cabinet rank positions with full staff complement. Mr. Yang’s case is different. He is a one-peso-a-year consultant-adviser under a standard contract of service with a fixed term who simply performs advisory functions. The Pre­sident calls him from time to time and seeks his advice on economic matters as the need arises. He is, therefore, just part of a pool of consultant-advisers of PRRD. He alone cannot influence the shaping of the President’s policies for the country,” anang Pangulo.

Binigyang-diin ni Panelo na hindi nagsinungaling ang Pangulo, taliwas sa nais palitawin ng mga kritiko nang sabihin nitong hindi nito in-appoint si Yang bilang Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs dahil isa itong dayuhan.
