Palasyo sa Chinese warships sa Sibutu Strait : Dapat nagpasintabi man lang!

Dapat man lang na nagpaabiso ang China sa gobyerno sa makailang beses na pagdaan ng Chinese warships sa Sibutu Strait na bahagi ng exclusive economic zone ( EEZ) ng Pilipinas.

Ito ang inihayag ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo kasunod ng impormasyon ng Department of National Defense (DND) na apat na beses naispatan ang paglayag ng Chinese warhips sa lugar simula Pebrero hanggang Hulyo .

Ayon kay Panelo , sinusuportahan ng Palasyo ang paghahain ng panibagong diplomatic protest sa China dahil malinaw na paglabag ito sa United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

“I agree with the statement of Secretary of National Defense that given the fact that the UNCLOS precisely states that countries that pass thru exclusive economic zone of another country should at least either inform or seek permission. Since they have not, it goes without saying that diplomatic protest must be filed,” ani Panelo.

Pero hindi naman inaalis ng kalihim ang posibilidad kung pina­yagan ba ng Chinese governmment ang na­ging aksiyon ng kanilang Chinese warship, kaya hihintayin ng gobyerno ang magiging katugunan ng gobyerno ng Tsina.
“We do not know actually if the Chinese government allowed this kind of violation because it maybe that the warships pass thru that without the Chinese government knowing it. That can be possible. If there is negligence on the part of those people in command.That’s why precisely the diplomatic protest is anchored on that. The assumption is the Chinese government know about this that’s why we are protesting, so we are waitin­g for the response,” dagdag pa ni Panelo.

Bagama’t nagbigay na ng pahayag si Chinese ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua kay Secretary Delfin Lorenzana na mali umano ang ginawa ng kanilang warships, sinabi ni Panelo na bilang kaibigan ay kailangan pa rin ang kortesiya sa mga ganitong pagkakataon lalo na at sensitibo ang usapin sa West Philippine Sea.
