Virus umatake sa Baguio, tinamaan mga kabayo

Isasalang sa euthanasia o isasailalim sa isolation ang may 21 kabayo sa Wright Park at Camp John Hay sa Baguio City matapos na tamaan ng virus infection.

Ayon sa ulat, nagpositibo ang mga kabayo sa Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) habang ang iba ay may bacterial infection.

Kinumpirma ng City Veterinary and Agriculture Office na 21 sa 58 kabayo ang na-test na EIA positive habang apat ang may bacterial infection.

“From the laboratory examination, 21 out 58 horses tested positive for EIA, while four had bacterial infections. It was then recommended that infected animals be euthanized or permanently isolated at a distance of 200 to 500 meters away from other horses,” pahayag ng Public Information Office ng Baguio City.
