Ipinagtanggol ni Executive Secretary Ralph Recto ang P4.5 bilyong confidential and intelligence funds (CIF)na inilaan sa ilalim ng Office of the President (OP) para sa 2027.
Sa isang panayam sa sidelines ng budget hearing, tinanong si Recto tungkol sa CIF ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“Number one, the President is the Chief Executive Officer. The President is the head of state. So his first job is to ensure law and order, and diyan ginagastos ‘yung confidential fund,” sabi ni Recto.
“With regard to the Intelligence Fund, he is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Phi¬lippines. ‘Yan naman napakahalaga for our national security,” dagdag pa nito.
Batay sa 2027 National Expenditure Program, makatatanggap ang OP ng P2.25 bilyong confidential fundsm at P2.31 bilyong intelligence funds. (Billy Begas)
